OKAY EVERYONE LISTEN THE FUCK UP TO THIS STORY I HEARD TODAY:
I was at my ftm support group and there was this guy there visiting from China (we are in San Diego, California). He was visiting because he said it is illegal to be transgender in China. As a result of this, he has been getting testosterone off the black market for 7 years, taking 1 small dose every month (DO NOT SELF MEDICATE). He said he had to buy his first batch off the Internet from someone and he bought 1 years worth at once. He also said that in the recent years, transmen have been smuggling and selling t to each other in order to help each other. He was visiting us here because he was getting t from tijuana. We asked him if he ever went to the doctors and he said that he has never been to a doctor, because he couldn’t think of anywhere that would help him, and that he has no idea if his body is healthy or not but “if that’s the cost it takes, then so be it” He told us that because it was so dangerous where he lived, he has 0 trans friends and almost no friends at all, to quote him, “I live in almost complete isolation”. He said that this was the first time in his life (he’s 31) that he was able to be in a room filled with people just like him. Watching him tell his story was so moving and it gets better, because he wrote this book and it’s available on amazon for only $20!! Immediately after hearing him speak I decided I HAD TO buy it. He said all the names are changed and stuff to protect him, but I hope some of you find the time to buy and read his book because he is such an inspiration.
Normally I wouldn’t do something like this bc we’re not supposed to talk about group but this guy deserves people to read and buy his book and have his story told
